The growth of collective sensibility to the problems
of naturalistic preservation, the attention of the media, the economic
damage caused by this phenomenon, have contributed noticeably to the
increase in requests for controls, above all in summer, for the phenomenon
WOODLAND FIRE.
It is well to remember that the seriousness of this phenomenon affects the woods in multiple ways, causing direct and indirect damage. Analysing the problem, it has been established that “the damage caused by woodland fires is proportional to the time spent from the beginning of the fire to when the fire-fighters deal with it.” Moreover the high costs and the limited availability of air craft, impose discrimination on the kind of operations that can be carried out. They can be guaranteed exclusively by specialised personnel who supply precise information from the ground on the intensity and outcome of the phenomenon that has to be faced. And with this assumption, MediaWebView join the field of play with one objective: to reduce the frequency and the spread of woodland fires. With the aim of quickly individualising the principle of fires, a software has been developed that is able to develop the video flow coming from the video-camera and, in case of immediate danger, it can send an alarm signal to a specific central operator, making use of the most varied communication technology with for example: a call to a mobile phone, a text message, an e mail, by starting a siren… To make the operation of putting out the fires by specialised personnel
more safe, every means of transport is equipped with a position detector,
whether it be GPS or GSM.
